Red Dead Redemption's Treasure Hunter ranks

In Red Dead Redemption (2010) Treasure Hunter is a ten-rank treasure-map challenge, not a movie and not the mobile MMO. Rank 2 is the query most people bring, and the write-ups do not agree on the exact chest stance.

A random encounter with Chu Fook hands you the first map. Rank 2 is Hanging Rock, the crossroads north of Armadillo. One description puts the chest on the northeast side, between a large rock and two other large rocks, holding Rhodes' Gold worth $100 plus Map 2. Another description says the chest sits with its back toward the hill. Both stay, because I cannot see which rock the authors meant.

Later ranks, as the same guides line them up: rank 3 at Rio del Lobo or Del Lobo Rock, rank 4 in the Tumbleweed mansion cellar, rank 5 at Rio del Toro which also unlocks free stagecoaches, rank 6 at Crooked Toes, rank 7 at Ojo del Diablo, rank 8 at Roca de Madera, rank 9 at a broken tree and stone wall on Beecher's Hope, and rank 10 in the bear cave on Nekoti Rock.

Rank 10 pays Stonewall's Gold, $750, plus 150 fame and the Treasure Hunter's satchel, which doubles how many consumables you carry. That satchel is the reason the challenge is still searched years later.

Red Dead Redemption 2 does not repeat the ten ranks. It has treasure maps and a random treasure-hunter stranger who may sell a map. The phrase 'gold treasure hunters' in RDR2 searches is a loose label, not this challenge.
