Square's own history treats this as its last Super Famicom game. Famitsu's score is recorded as 31 out of 40. The battle grid spends action points in the manner of Shining Force rather than a pure menu RPG. The cast names that show up in every summary are Red, Blue, Rain, and the creature Ponga, with a Dark King as the threat.

Music is credited to a group that includes Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata, seven composers in the full line. I am not reproducing a track list I have not lined up against a primary booklet.

There is no official English cartridge. Community translation archives such as Zophar’s Domain document English fan patches. Those hosts do not all ship the same build, which is why this page refuses a version number.

Japan received a Wii Virtual Console release on 25 December 2007. That reissue is still Japanese. A search for 'Treasure Hunter G English' is a translation question, not a question about a Square Enix western SKU.

Touhou and other doujin works sometimes sit next to this title in keyword tools. They are not this cartridge. The original Super Famicom release is distinct from both the phone game and the similarly named Steam RPG.
