Final Fantasy XI Treasure Hunter

Treasure Hunter is a Thief job trait in Final Fantasy XI. It raises a monster's drop rate. It is not a treasure map and not the mobile game.

Treasure Hunter I, II, and III arrive at Thief levels 15, 45, and 90. Any action that creates enmity can apply the effect. It changes monster drop rates. It does not change guaranteed drops, key items, caskets, or battlefield spoils.

Starting application and the level built up through subsequent hits are different limits. FFXIclopedia describes a gear limit of +8 for main-job Thief and +4 for other jobs, then a target-effect progression to 13, 14 at 100 JP, and 15 at 1200 JP. Square Enix’s published Gifts table instead states a maximum value of 14 at the 1200-JP gift. These are conflicting descriptions, so neither is silently merged into a single cap.

The drop table those wikis print runs from very common, 24% up to 80% across the level band, to ultra rare, 0.10% up to 1.50%, on levels 0 through 14. I am quoting that band rather than recomputing it.

Trusts that bring Treasure Hunter I include AAMR, Aldo, Aldo (UC), Fablinix, Lion, Lion II, Maximilian, and Nanaa Mihgo. Blue Mage trait arrangements depend on equipped spell combinations; this page does not supply an independently corroborated spell recipe.

A search for 'blue mage treasure hunter' is this trait, not a separate job. A search that expects a treasure chest minigame is in the wrong game.
