RuneScape 3 Treasure Hunter

Treasure Hunter was RuneScape 3's key-and-chest promotion. It replaced Squeal of Fortune on 4 February 2014 and was removed on 19 January 2026. It is not a skill and not the mobile game on this site.

Keys opened a chest. Rewards sat on seven rarity steps from common to ultra-rare, and oddments were the leftover currency when a roll duplicated something. A long argument about buyable rewards exists on the wiki. I am not pasting that catalog, because I did not re-check every tradeable row for this page.

Jagex put the removal to a vote. The ballot closed on 12 November 2025 with 124,985 votes, above a 100,000-yes threshold that the announcement named. Keys stopped being sold on 12 January 2026. The promotion itself left the game on 19 January 2026.

Searches for 'rs3 treasure hunter keys' are now historical. A key bought before the cutoff is not something this page can price. The live question is what the game does without the chest, and the answer in the sources is: it does without it.

This website's code table is for Mega Combat's mobile game, which still uses one-time gift codes. Those codes do not interact with RuneScape. If a guide site mixes the two, ignore the RuneScape rows.
